In regard to education, Tororo has a Sub Total of 159 Government Aided Primary Schools, 31 Government Aided Secondary Schools and 10 Tertiary & Vocational Institutions with a Pupil teacher ratio of 1 teacher for 67 pupils.  This year alone, the total enrolment is at 133,751, an increase of about 10 percent from last year –which ideally is good. The promotion of adult literacy rate should as well remain a priority.
